Plant products with acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity for insect control

چکیده
Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors are widely used in Alzheimer’s treatment, but they also crucial for their action on organophosphorus insecticides. The latter exert toxicity by inhibiting the AChE enzyme insects, leading to death. Amaryllidaceae alkaloids have been proven be potent inhibitors. In present study methanolic extracts and essential oils being obtained from species of Asteraceae, Lamiaceae, Brassicaceae were evaluated vitro inhibitory activity. Ellman’s colourimetric method, with modifications, was activity evaluation. According level, tested plant products divided into three categories. First: strong comparable that galanthamine; second: medium activity, IC 50 value about 1 mg/ml last group low greater than mg/ml. Essential Origanum vulgare subsp. hirtum Ietswaart., Satureja pilosa Vel., Monarda fistulosa L., Thymus longedentatus (Degen & Urum.) Ronniger extract Leucojum aestivum L. showed most referred as first group. Carvacrol identified main component active oils. extract, galanthamine found alkaloid. results indicate alkaloid-rich possess strongest This gives us a reason recommend these insecticidal future.

Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitory Activity of Standardized Cannabinoids-rich Fractions
Background: Since cannabis has been legally allowed for medicinal purposes in many countries, it has become more interesting issue, particularly in neurologic disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Inhibition of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) is one of the mechanisms for the treatment of AD. Objectives: The present study aimed to establish a method for preparation of cannabinoids-rich extrac...
متن کاملErythrocyte Acetylcholinesterase-Inhibitory Activity of Porphyrin Compounds
Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition is important because of its health-related implications. Three porphyrin derivatives, Tetraphenylporphinesulfonate (TPPS), 5, 10, 15, 20-Tetrakis (4sulfonatophenyl) porphyrinato Iron (III) Chloride (FeTPPS) and 5, 10, 15, 20-Tetrakis (4-sulfonatophenyl) porphyrinato Iron (III) nitrosyl Chloride (FeNOTPPS), were tested by Molecular Docking as inhibitors of ...
متن کاملOligostilbenoids with acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity from Dipterocarpus alatus.
Phytochemical investigation of the stem wood of Dipterocarpus alatus led to the isolation and characterization of four new oligostilbenoids, dipterocarpols A-D (1-4), together with two known resveratrol oligomers, hopeahainol (5) and hopeafuran (6). The structures of the new compounds were determined by comprehensive spectral analysis including 1D and 2D NMR, and high-resolution MS. The absolut...
متن کاملCompounds from Gum Ammoniacum with Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitory Activity
The use of herbal medicinal preparations in dementia therapy has been studied based on experience from traditional medicine. A dichloromethane extract of gum ammoniacum, the gum-resin from Dorema ammoniacum D. Don had shown acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory activity in a previous study. The aim of this study was the isolation and characterization of the active compounds from this resin. Th...
متن کاملScreening of Indian medicinal plants for acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity.
The cholinergic hypothesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has provided the rationale for the current pharmaco-therapy of this disease, in an attempt to reduce the cognitive decline caused by cholinergic deficits. Nevertheless, the search for potent and long-acting acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors that exert minimal side effects in AD patients is still ongoing. AChE inhibitors are currently t...
